Pluto. Oh, no! Not that again.

Oh no, it’s that time again. A highlighted Pluto phase, activated by the celestial movements in the heavens. On our recent eclipsing new moon, on the 30 April, Pluto was stationary, getting ready to turn retrograde. In my natal chart, the new moon placement additionally hit an exact opposition to my natal Pluto. Nooo! Drowning noises. This post will be a bit time-bound, and astrological. For those of you, who do experience Plutonian stuff in your lives overall, it still may be of interest.

What do Pluto activations trigger? In my experience, they activate deeply residing psychological patterns that hurt. Pluto’s energy tends to focalize unprocessed trauma in excess. In my case, the very same themes of disempowerment and fear tend to reemerge. Even though in general, Pluto is archetypally connected with these very themes of fear and power/ disempowerment, there are all kinds of ways it can show up for different people in their lives. Regardless of what specific shape it takes, though, it will be certainly big or heavy enough so that one can’t ignore it.

As it is often said, Pluto likes to make small things huge and vice versa. It pulls all the attention to that one thing and emits other stuff that may also be in the landscape. Its strong gravitational power and its characteristic laser focus create a heavy pull, so it becomes hard to recognize other things that may also be there. Even after quite some work on my deterministic patterns, still, every time Pluto soft spots get amplified, it calls for all of my attention. Attention to recognize, that even though it may not feel or seem like it, I still have the choice of not getting completely pulled into its story. Choice of chain cut. Lover’s card over devil’s card, tarot-language-wise speaking. AND thank you, element of air. Breathe in and out, even though it seems pointless. Breathe in and out, even though it doesn’t seem like any kind of solution. Breathe in and out, even though it’s boring. Breathe in and out, even though it’s much more boring than your Pluto story. Breathe in and out, darling. They say.

Times like these really are mean, cause it feels like being completely on our own. It’s like – oh man, ancestors, didn’t you say, you’d be with me? Didn’t you say, I do not need to heavy-lift all by myself anymore? Didn’t you promise to be supporting me henceforth? Well, that’s what we are doing, darling. They say. And actually, I do know that. I can feel them, even if they seem further away, outside my Styxian waters. The Plutonian pain-pull defines a magnetism that can easily overshadow other presences, that are not as intense. And the actually good ones, rarely are. So what can we do in these times?

I’d say, let’s find value in the situation. Because otherwise, this experience just sucks. What could be the value of such an experience? I’d say, the opportunity of using that very same intense energy for healing and transmutation. Pluto is not without reason, often associated with transformation. Its fierce and persistent force, that makes loops of old patterns activate like broken vinyl records, can be used as an opportunity to focus on the problem at hand with a healing intent. Pluto’s biggest strength is FOCUS. We can take advantage of it and practice that. Furthermore, we can practice staying connected with our benevolent forces whilst bringing awareness to the hurt parts. Our helping spirits can hold us through this. Forces like our well and wise ancestors, Gods and Goddesses we are in a relationship with, the power of love, or whatever our helping backbone is. That ample helping thing is bigger than all the pain.

Remember,

You’re not alone in the pull, dear ones,

Much love
